Save the Date for HDTC Caucuses

Elect Hamden Democratic Town Committee MembersThe Hamden Democratic Town Committee announced the locations of the 2014 caucuses, at which the 2014-2016 members of the Hamden Democratic Town Committee will be elected.

All caucuses will begin promptly at 7:00 pm.  Anyone arriving after 7 pm may not be permitted to vote.

The Caucus locations are as follows:

Districts One and Nine will meet at B&D Deli Works, 3584 Whitney Avenue, Hamden.


Districts Two and Five will meet at the Board of Education headquarters, 60 Putnam Avenue, Hamden.

Districts Three, Four, Six, Seven, and Eight will meet at the Senior Center, Miller Memorial Library, 2901 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden.

Any registered Democrat wishing to be considered for membership on the Democratic Town Committee for 2014-2016 is invited to attend the caucuses.

Any  registered Democrat wishing to support a nominee may attend the caucuses.

Mayor Scott Jackson Kicks Off 2013 Campaign

Mayor Jackson started our campaign season telling us a few personal stories of our recent disasters and how, with the help of his nationwide network of municipal connections, Hamden got the resources to quickly recover.His argument is the guy with the Rolodex should be the one who’s there to lead the town through the worst of times.

Did you know Hamden was first in getting the payloaders that shoveled out our 240 miles of road after Nemo last winter? Or that we now have a report that tells us, definitively, which roads are most in need of repair? These are things people would generally not know how to do, or how to pay for them. But with Scott’s nationwide network of policy wonks like himself, he’s able to get the information he needs, and secure funding from sources other than our property taxes.

After all he pays taxes, too.  He was running late to our event because he was at his son’s open house at Ridge Hill School.  His mom, and all his siblings live here.  What’s in the best interest of Scott’s family and all of Hamden’s elected officials, is in our best interest, too.
